The visit was attended by the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Zekeriya ARTUN, as well as faculty members Mr. Ramazan ÖZDEMİR, Mr. Sedat SEVEN, and Mr. Sefa TALAY.

Discussions on Education and Collaboration

The meeting was also attended by TKDK's Senior Contract Specialist, Mr. Ali Osman BİNGÖL, and the Head of the On-Site Control Unit, Ms. Gözde ÇELEBİ. The primary agenda of the meeting focused on organizing training seminars for students related to the construction industry and preparing preliminary protocols for student internships. Additionally, discussions were held on updating course content to align with evolving technologies and market needs, as well as strengthening sustainable collaboration between the two institutions.

One key point emphasized during the meeting was the importance of providing Civil Engineering students with a more comprehensive understanding of industry developments. The Agricultural and Rural Development Support Institution plays a vital role in supporting construction projects within agricultural and rural development initiatives. In this context, TKDK Provincial Director Mr. Bünyamin SÜNE highlighted the benefits of organizing seminars that would help students stay informed about innovations and available support within the sector. Mr. SÜNE mentioned that these seminars would contribute to equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Another important topic discussed was student internships. Faculty members underlined the significance of students gaining industry experience before graduation. There was consensus on the need for mutual cooperation protocols to increase internship opportunities. It was emphasized that students participating in TKDK's ongoing projects would not only gain theoretical knowledge but also acquire valuable hands-on experience in real-world applications.

Updating Course Content in Line with Technological Advancements

The meeting also addressed the necessity of updating course content to reflect technological advancements. The inclusion of modern topics such as sustainable construction methods, the use of renewable energy sources, and digital construction technologies in the curriculum was deemed essential. These updates would ensure that students are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the construction industry.
